Law & Legislation

It is extremely important for all animal owners, and breeders to pay close attention to the current legislation and proposed legislation in their county and state. There are laws being passed that will effect you! If you are a Bull Terrirer owner it is critical, since many ordinances that are being passed regarding breed bans are vague at best.

As of February 1997, the following Washington cities have breed-specific dog laws (highways included):

Algona       Kennewick     Pullman     Yakima

Buckley      Kirkland      Sea-Tac

Enumclaw     Moxee         Sunnyside

Everett      Oak Harbor    Toppenish

It is recommended you call your local Animal Control to find out the laws in your area and how they would affect owning a Bull Terrier.
